OUR STORY
FROM THE ROAD TO STRÜNG.
We are Jenny Mann and Tim Barbour, the creators of STRÜNG.
Before STRÜNG, we spent 10 years on the road together in a rock band, playing more than 2,000 shows and logging nearly a million miles.
We know what it means to put everything on the line to chase a dream, and how music can change your life, because it changed ours.
STRÜNG was born from that life in music, and from one used guitar string.
THE BEGINNING
IT STARTED WITH A USED GUITAR STRING.
In July 2014, while we were on tour with our band Blameshift, Tim was changing his guitar strings. Jenny noticed that one of the used strings looked like it could become a bracelet.
With a little creativity, time, and a whole lot of love, the first STRÜNG bracelet was made.
Later that month, we sold our first bracelets at a show in Clifton, New Jersey. We sold every one we had that night.
Before long, fans were buying more bracelets than CDs, and Jenny was spending hours after shows handcrafting them.
What started as an idea on the road became something people connected with far beyond an ordinary piece of jewelry.
ADVOCATES FOR MUSIC EDUCATION
HELP SAVE MUSIC.
Music gave us our lives, our friendships, our careers, and ultimately STRÜNG.
As the brand grew, we knew giving back to music had to be part of what we built. We wanted the next generation to have the same opportunity we did to learn, play, and fall in love with music.
STRÜNG became an advocate for music education, including traveling to Washington, D.C. with NAMM to speak with lawmakers about the importance of keeping music in schools.
We have also supported organizations and causes including MusiCares, Guitars For Vets, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and others.
